What a great first half term we have had in Year 4! The children are all completely settled and we’re very proud of how hard they are all working. laugh

This week in our Maths lessons we have carried on looking at column addition and column subtraction, you may wish to practise some calculations of your own at home, using 4 digit numbers. For example, 3456 + 4758   or   8913 – 2568. (The children should know what to do with exchanging.) Our school calculation policy can be found under ‘key information’ on the home page of our website. BBC bitesize is full of great video clips to help support with this too.

On Wednesday, we performed our Harvest assembly and we are really pleased with the feedback we have received – thank you! We hope you all enjoyed it, the children should all be so proud of themselves. yes

For Black History week this week we have been learning all about the Windrush Generation. Ask your child some facts they now know! The children have researched, created posters, made poems and taken part in role play activities all to do with the Windrush Generation. Lots of pictures can be found on our Twitter feed - @DovedaleY4.

The spellings for next half term can be found on the Year 4 home page. We aren’t giving paper homework out over half term but the children should all have their reading books and reading records and we have set online homework through Mathletics.

We hope you all have a great half term and we will see you all on Monday 29th October!

YEAR 4 TEAM. smiley
