Year 5 weekly blog 28-9-18

Date: 28th Sep 2018 @ 3:04pm

This week in Year 5, we have been working extremely hard and enjoying the following activities: -

  • Maths – rounding numbers up to 1,000,000
  • English - continuing to explore Beowulf and writing our own version of the legend. What fantastic stories we produced!
  • Science – writing a diary entry, describing a new planet, including scientific language. Pandora was an exciting place!
  • History -  looking at artefacts and making decisions based on them
  • Art – investigating the artist Peter Thorpe, using the internet.
  • P.E - developing athletics skills.

What an amazing week we had. We were extremely impressed with the children’s work, especially their work on Beowulf. We cannot wait until next week where we will be enjoying the following lessons: -

  • Maths – Roman numerals.
  • English – The Princess’ Blankets by Carol Ann Duffy.
  • PHSE – Designing Bully Buster posters.
  • History - Sutton Hoo. Using evidence to solve the mystery.
  • Jigsaw – looking at poverty and wealth.
  • P.E - developing athletics skills

A huge thank you for your continuing support. Enjoy your weekend.
